Note: buy more AA batteries, electric candles do not help if the batteries are dead. Also buy more maglights as soon as the multipacks go on sale for christmas. Buy the LED bulbs for all of them. Also buy the wall mount holders for them and actually mount them in stratigic locations

our power went out for 2 hours this evening for no apparent reason. I wrote that post on my blackberry by the lighted screen.

If they were not so damn expensive i would recommend purchasing some 12 volt solar panels, Have them set up to charge a few deep cycle marine RV batteries. A setup like that goes a long way. Those batteries can be used for multiple purposes. From little thing like charging cellphones to running a small mini fridge. With a converter you can keep a full size fridge going for half a day on four batteries.
