To be fair, from just the content of the messages that you posted, she may think you were saying 'I didn't do the assignment' when you said, "I do not have my reading journals." Maybe telling her "I turned in my reading journals, and didn't keep a copy of them" would be clearer. I mean, was it hand-written, or printed out?
