Slitherings.

Had a dream where a bobcat was attacking a snake. My Father and I were down near the pond digging a culvert, up to our ankles in mud. I pulled on the snake's tail to get it out of the hole it was slithering into, and the head was a white badger. I let go in shock because even though the bobcat let me interfere with it's meal to be without protest, ( Read more... )

......question...

What did you EAT before you went to bed? Christ, I thought I had weird dreams.

Good news is, you have three of the four houses of Hogwarts in your dream! (sort of bobcats =/= lions/gryphons.. but... um.. they're cousins?)

Actually. I don't know that it's good news, but the badger/snake thing would have all the Slytherins cringing and hissing at the Hufflepuffs. And the poor dears wouldn't have a clue why... and that's entertaining.

No really, don't mind me I'm reading Harry Potter fanfic and that combined with being a bit sleepy made me go there.

The last thing I ate was ham and potato salad, four hours before I went to bed. I did have two Mike's Hard Lemonades at that time, though. I just generally have weirder dreams when I sleep in, and today I slept till 10.

You should read some Lovecraftian horror or some of Alan Moore's run on Swamp Thing. Clear out all those dear little children living in your head.

I've been meaning to read Lovecraft, but I can never decide where to start. I've also been meaning to read at least half a dozen other series/books.

I have a feeling Lovecraft would send Lost into a fit of mad cackles and the last thing I need is for that freak to be getting any ideas.

I think that Lovecraft is one of the densest things I've ever read. It's hard to really understand why he took off so well, except that he was one of the first to well-establish an atmosphere of completely alien intelligence and mysterious creepy 'things'.
You should try one of his short story anthologies.
