Dr. Brennen told me my odds for the TA position. From this, I have decided to attend the MAT program instead. I go back to school in June.

Work is going well. Something to do all day has improved my mood. My feet hurt, but I'll get used to it.

Since I've been laid off, I've had enough time on my hands to read all the books on my giant To Read Eventually list. Most of them are classics that have made it to numerous Required Reading lists for schools. The rest are just books I want to read before I die. The list I posted last week is mostly through. I tried out the erg at the fitness room today. The chain needs a little grease or else it's louder than I remember it. The seat track isn't 100% smooth, but I can live with it. I know there's an exercise room, poker tables, and a billiards table there. Dark Days in Monkey City is a ridiculous show of which I am completely smitten.

I am officially going to start training as a barista at the Barnes & Noble cafe tomorrow. This moment was destined to happen the moment I declared my English major freshman year. Yup.

I received an application in the mail from KSU's MAPW program for a TA position. Apparently They have a whole program outlined for three years. The first year will involve things similar to my OU Writing Center days and will involve observing freshman English classes. By the third year I will be teaching sections of those freshman English classes. ( Read more... )

Snow blanketed everything for a good solid hour. I spent twenty minutes digging out my car from where it had gathered the maximum amount of snow beside a perfectly sloped awning.
