In about an hour, I'm leaving to go on a religious retreat with a bunch of seniors and juniors from my daughter's high school. I've been an adult leader on this retreat before, and it is always very intense and amazing. I will be out of touch and offline for the next 4 days. Thanks, honey! I did, as a matter of fact. Very little sleep, but lots of amazing revelations from a completely awesome group of teenagers. There is hope for this world.

These teenage kids are made of awesome, I have to say. So incredibly mature, amazingly honest and just plain fantastic. They give me hope for the future of this world.

It was an amazing experience, as always. Kids talking about their real life experiences (good and bad), their faith, their misconceptions about each other... And then learning to accept each other. Kids talking to other kids to whom they wouldn't have given the time of day before. Oh, and lots of singing. And very little sleep. It's a potent mixture. I'm exhausted, but exhilirated. They give me hope for the human race.
