I do something similar - I buy the first round of drinks on my birthday - you can't really buy dinner for a few people on a student budget ;) But now that I'm earning a bit more, I might be able to do that. The only problem is that most of the time not everyone I want to be there can come.

Isn't that always the problem? You can't get everyone to the party. Pooo.

I think more people would do the Hobbit way of things if they realised that they would get things more often. They would then only have to buy things once and then it's done with. And then they'll be getting gifts throughout the whole year. lol

Hmm I'm not so sure about the getting gifts throughout the year but then I guess that never occured to me either. I just know I can't afford to do it!

Well, if you only gave gifts to the people tha tyou would be giving gifts to on their birthdays anyway it would be about the same, it would just be one lump sum is all. That's the hard part. The doing it all at once.

I've done that twice now, and it's always so nice to be able to say "thank you" to my friends, for being there for me!

*hugs* I hope your car bill isn't too hideous. It is ridiculous how much car repairs cost (I'm putting off some of my own at the moment....)

I've always wanted to do it,just never been able to afford it. Sad to say.
The car bill wasn't horrible but it was enough to be painful.
