What an excellent night.
I hope I don't forget anything but this is my concert recap from last night (as well as my recap of my day in Boston).
I got to Boston on Wednesday and decided to explore the city a bit while I was there. Got soaked in my attempt to walk the Freedom Trail and decided to head home about halfway through it.
The hostel wasn't too bad. I had 5 roommates but they were all very quiet. Still, I didn't get much sleep.
On Thursday, after a very quick breakfast, I decided to head to the venue, just to see if people were already queuing.
I got there around 7am and there were about ten to fifteen people in front of me. Not bad. I also got to meet
fuschia,
Megs and
Deb and their lovely friend whose name I can't remember. They were later joined by
soulascending, her fiancé Simon and their friend.
I made friends with two awesome girls in front of me in the queue. I need to friend on LJ because they were so great. It was a pleasure meeting them and hanging out with them.
The afternoon was uneventful aside from a brief Frank apparition. He was walking down the opposite sidewalk and disappeared into Fenway Park (the Red Sox were playing and every baseball fan was eying at us like we were aliens). I also got to say hi to Pedicone. He was walking back to the bus at some point in the afternoon and waved at him like a goober. He said hi back. I think he might be my favorite (after Frank...maybe).
I saw Eddie too. He remembered me from the Paris show and gave me a hug. I didn't get to talk to him a lot but I didn't want to be all over his face all the time.
The highlight of the afternoon was also a pit puppy called Dammit who travels with the band. He belongs to the gear truck driver. We got to pet him very briefly. Then he peed all over the sidewalk. lol
I got to meet
Philosiraptors but it was very brief. She was there with
Wasoncedelight and their friends so I didn't get to hang out with them more. It's shame. Maybe next show.
I also met
Crowgirl13 in the back of the line while I was waiting to pick up my will call ticket. I even got a hug. It was very nice getting to meet her face to face.
Anyway. The show.
The Architects were a revelation for me. I had heard their previous album (their first?) but I had no idea how they sounded live. I was blown away. I cannot wait to see them again tonight and this weekend.
Thursday was amazing, as usual. I thought the crowd didn't give the welcome they deserved but maybe that's just me. They played Jet Black New Year (I saw he setlist before the show and when I screamed "Jet Black!", Geoff said "someone guessed our next song". LOL) and Turpike Divides. It was a short set. I remember them playing No Answers and Magnets Caught in a Metal Heart. Not sure what else they played.
Now, MCR.
The pit was insane but not as bad as the Wembley pit. I am bruised all over today and so sore but that was worth it. I was so close to the stage I could smell Frank's sweat.
I got a couple of pictures and videos.
Frank was wearing a plaid shirt. Mikey was absolutely gorgeous. Pedicone was so fucking perfect. Gerard was Gerard (lol Sorry I was mostly looking at Frank). Dewees had dyed his hair. I think it's bluish now. It looks like a very bad dye job but still, awesome. Ray still had his cast. He was very smiley as usual.
Frank was using the dead mic a lot. At one point when they were playing Teenagers, he said something in the dead mic and Mikey and Pedicone cracked up. I wish I knew what he said. The boy is hilarious.
Rich Gaccione was in the pit, taking about thousands of pictures of Frank and singing every lyrics. I think he might have a crush on Frank judging by the way he was just staring at him at certain moments. It was great.
At the end of the show, Frank grabbed Pedicone by the nape of his neck and they exited the stage together. Could they flirt any harder?
I managed to get one of Mikey's plectrums. I also got a setlist from Eddie.
I met the guys from the Architects and bought their newest CD from Keenan who is seriously the cutest little thing since Frank.
I got all the guys to sign the booklet and told them I was going to see them at more dates. Brandon even talked to me in French. He knew a few words and asked me where I was from originally. He was adorable.
I got to see Tom from Thursday again and he remembered me from the London show. He was with his girlfriend who seemed very impressed by my travels.
MCR came out to sign things just a little after midnight, I think.
Gerard and Mikey came out first and Mikey high-fived me. Then Frank came out and I'm not sure what happened. It didn't feel real, standing in front of him. He signed my ticket and I told him I came from France and was here to see them play 3 more shows. He seemed impressed or at least feigned he was pretty well. I asked for a hug but he said he didn't want to get sick. That makes sense. He's hanging around his ladies and doesn't want to give them fan germs. I guess we will have to raincheck the hug for some other time.
Have some pictures (videos will be up shortly).
So yeah. That's my night.
I'm currently in a bus to Philly. I cannot wait for tonight's show.
ETA. A couple of video from Boston:
