My Chemical Romance - May 8th 2011 - Starland Ballroom, NJ

May 09, 2011 15:26

I am at the airport now, waiting for my flight back to London. I only have ten hours to go. :/
Last night was surreal, probably one of the best nights in my entire existence. I'm not just saying that. I'm pretty sure nothing I have ever experienced before is as good as what happened last night.

We got to Starland around noon and since I was the only person needing will call, I sat down with wasoncedelight, apocalypse_me, intothenightx and our friend Jennifer.

The wait felt surprisingly short. The day just flew by and then I had to queue in my own line. Some girl glared at me because I was going to get in the venue before her but it's not really my fault that Starland has a strange will call policy. It benefited me both nights so I'm not going to complain.
I ran into Brandon of the Architects on my way to the bathroom and he gave me a epic hug. I might never recover from how awesome these dudes are. I think they might be the nicest people.

The doors opened and I rushed into the venue and managed to get barrier. I was on the left side, not very far from Frank and I had a great view of the entire stage. Then as the night went on, I ended up very close to him and I was a happy camper.

The crowd was a lot better than last night. There was less pushing and less elbows. It was refreshing.

This Good Robot was good. The crowd loved them even though some people were getting very impatient to see My Chem.

Somehow, apocalypse_me ended up behind me in the pit and I was very glad to have her there.

The Architects fucking killed it yet another time. Zach blew me a kiss at some point and it made me the happiest. The set was short but fantastic. I think it might have been their best show out of the 4 times I've seen them.

Thursday blew my mind. They played Cross Out The Eyes and Jet Black New Year. I managed to say hi to Tom while he was setting up and he gave me a huge dopey grin.

Then it was time for My Chem and at that point, I was getting crushed against the barrier. I have bruises all over my knees and arms but I survived.
It was magical. Probably the best My Chem show I've ever been to.
Frank jumped into the crowd during I'm Not Okay and I helped Medhi pull him out of the crowd, getting my hands on his back and pushing him out of the pit. His cardigan was very soft. LOL
Speaking of Medhi, I had written a small note about seeing the last 4 shows and being from France and he came and talked to me after the show and said he was sorry and that he'll pass my message along to the guys. It was really cute because he introduced himself to me and I was thinking, "I know who you are. LOL"
Mama Way, Handsome Don and Jamia were there. Mama Way was dancing and singing along to Justin Timberlake. It was the most amazing thing ever. She was having a blast.

My Chem played House of Wolves. Gerard howled before the song. They played Our Lady of Sorrows too and since I have been wanting them to play it for so long, I was the happiest. Frank seemed to be having some pedal/guitar trouble so he had to stall everyone for a while.

I remember Frank playing, lying on the floor but I don't remember what song it was. Someone threw a pair of sunglasses on stage and Frank wore them for Teenagers.

I wish I remembered more things but my brain is kind of mushy right now. All I know is that I caught a pick for intothenightx and then got out of the venue to find mt buddies.
Then we met the Architects again and asked them for a group picture. They were the nicest. I got to hug them all again and tell them how fucking good they were. I really hope they come to Europe soon. I am going to miss these guys so much.

We went to the back to see if My Chem was going to come out but they didn't. We did see Geoff Rickly chatting with Sally and Mel so we joined them for a little bit and got our picture taken with him. Geoff is such a sweetheart.

Ignore my horrible face. I just got out of the pit so I look like a hobo.

We also got a group picture with The Architects.

After the show, we went to a diner and Mama Way and Handsome Don were there. Jersey is the smallest place on earth.

I am very sad that this is over but I know I'm coming home with great memories (and many guitar picks) and with a lot of new friends.

Thank you, My Chem. Thank you, New Jersey. Thank you.

thursday, my cupcake romance, architects, concerts
