I take the cigarette out of my mouth and smash it into the eye. I'd chuckle if my throat wasn't so damn dry. My clothing is stiff from the road dust and sweat and blood. The whisky haze is just lifting. What I see is gruesome. Did I do this? Why? I see the symbols I left and it all floods back. No mistake was made. No regrets. Ever.
