i agree with you for the most part. while younger people marrying on a whim has caused a rise in divorce rates, some of those marriages could be very long-lasting and happy. marriage requires that both parties fully understand what they're committing to, but people of all ages fail to hold true to their vows every day. there really isn't a particular trend with age or time spent together that goes along with recent divorce rates. what i do believe is that, if both people feel that they understand what they're getting into when marrying, they should both be ready for it financially so that they can actually be independant from their parents and create a stable living environment for one another. you still have to respect their decisions and let them decide what they want for themselves and learn for themselves.
