when you get that tingly-touched feeling. Just before I left for the day, the shop teacher called me over to the window. He pointed towards my car, and said that Eck - a student - took care of it. It's nice when students find little ways of showing you how they appreciate you.

Today my heart was warmed by one of my favorite band kids. I was subbing for one of the 8th grade teachers (my job is only part-time) and I had to take them to an assembly on scheduling their high school classes. Half the 8th grade was there and this kid raises his hand and asks if he can take band all year (it's block scheduling, so sometimes freshman are forced to only take one semester of band), what he can do to make sure that happens and whether or not he can do two instruments in band. On the way out of the assembly, he found me and explained the whole way back to the 8th grade wing how much he loves band. (This isn't your typical band geek, either, impressively.)

I love working with kids this age. :)
