What're some of your favorite Piratica quotes? I'm trying to get a bunch of good ones so I can make some text icons with them.
The ones I've gotten so far from reading Piratica II (I'm only about half-way through):
From Piratica
"Sane," remarked Art. "Gone sane." -p. 6, Book 1
"I never kill. Never need to. I'm too fly for that." -p. 66, Book 1 (Art)
"Ah, lookit de snow, la!" -p. 81, Book 1 (Ebad)
"On stage, I used to believe every word and act, while I played my part. Now it's real and I don't believe it at all." - p. 136, Book 1 (Eerie)
Plunqwette, showing off her mimic skills, sat on the captain's desk and clucked for an hour like a chicken. - p. 138
"Oh I'll make him suffer. Then I'll marry him." (Art)
From Piratica II: Return to Parrot Island
"And she--well, she didn't understand him, did she. He wanted the dry land, and she wanted the world. It was hopeless"-p. 31
*sniff* So sad.
"No ship dies," Art said, "while she's remembered"-p. 35
"I don't give a cinnamon damn for what anyone told you. I am telling you. I'm off."-Felix, p. 73
First off, "cinnamon damn" that's awesome. Secondly, so sad/hot
"No, no," snarled Felix, "I'm merry as a bat in biscuits."-p. 77
I just love Felix and his odd sayings, okay?
"For what did it matter to him if she was nuts and wrong and inflexible and annoying--what did it matter she was a pirate? Oh, it mattered everything, but it couldn't alter her--then he would have to put up with it. He must be there with her, and for her. She was his and he was hers. No choice. Why struggle? Give in. Love's love."-p. 133
""It's old as forever." (Honest)
"It's Egypt," said Whuskery."-p. 177
"Goldie writhed inside as her heartless heart burst like an over-heated cannon, showering her with bits of scalding emotional metal."-p. 229
"And yet, amid the white-hot hurt and rage, Goldie wished once more that her dead First Officer, Mr. Beast, were with her. He'd have been loyal. He had only let her down--that once. And not--like this"-p. 229. (Because I totally ship Goldie/Beast)
"Life hurt worse than any woman's fist."-p. 253
"And besides, after Art had dueled with Goldie and beaten her, Goldie hadn't been worth anything as a captain. She was no longer pistol-proof."-p.264
And for
pearly_dreams, should she choose to spoil herself further...
"Art saw Whuskery had deserted the Lily's cannon. He was bending over Dirk, who said feebly, "It's all right, darling. 'Tis nought. Just a little bit of a broken leg.""-p.293
"It was a lightish wound, but Peter had stunned Oscar by acting bravely. Whuskery, however, was not brave. He loomed, loudly lamenting, over Dirk.
"You're worse than the patient, Mr. Whusk. Get out."
Whuskery reddened behind his mustache and took a stand as if to defend Dirk from the enemy--rather than Oscar and his carpentry set.
Oscar said, "I mean, Whusk, y're a-making it worse for him."
Whuskery left."-p. 294
I wish I had started writing them down before page 33 though...
