After class yesterday, the professor walked as far as the elevator with a group of us lowly students. This is the same history professor who causes such great anxiety when writing for, the one who taught at an Ivy League institution before coming down to Georgia. I forget how it came up, but I expressed this anxiety when writing for him. He stopped short and said, Angel, I've seen your writing and it's very, very good. I almost fell over. Did I just hear him say that???? Hmmm, maybe he was experiencing a weak moment.

I want to assure you, m'dear, that he most definitely was *not* having a weak moment. Trust me on that. I don't know to what level of credence you hold my opinion, but I too have seen your writing, and it *is* very, very good.

I've had a similar experience (way back in high school), and I know how that made you feel. ;)

You are altogether too kind. Your opinion is very highly regarded. This keeps up and I'm going to get to thinking I'm actually somebody!
