If possible, Yixing seems to have become lazier, stretched out over the couch with his guitar. The last time Jongdae asked Yixing for help with his Chinese workbook, Yixing had plopped Jongdae on the couch next to him and subjected Jongdae to an hour of some odd Chinese wu shu drama. )

Minseok laughing as they dissect second-handed jokes that eluded them during the day. omg I really liked this line, probably bc it's one of those things that have never occurred to me but feel totally like, 'yeah!!' CUTE AS FUCK? these two against the world, awww. also L O L “What do the Chinese do?” Jongdae asks. / “Fuck if I know,” Minseok grins, causing Jongdae to laugh.

Oh, it's definitely chenmin (+ translator noona!) against the world, alright. AND! Fandom needs more layhan/xinglu tbh. This is another pairing I will probably have to end up writing myself ;A; AND YES. I BET MINSEOK IS A REALLY COMPLEX CHARACTER TOO. Oh god, another band member fandom is seriously lacking fic for.

I mean, I like him, he's cute and has an amazing voice and it's so adorable how him (and Xiu Min) try so hard to learn Chinese, but I just...I never thought I would read a 4000-word fic about him. UNTIL YOU WROTE ONE.
I. Love. This. It's sad how Jongdae struggles with Chinese and how he's trading the best years of his life to lip-sync to songs he doesn’t understand, but the other M members are so adorable. Minseok especially, ofc, but Yixing's such a sweetheart (the defending Jongdae part, be still my heart), Lu Han is adorably evil (I just knew he would be under that face), Zitao is like this kung fu panda that I want to squish (no connection to the movie), and Wu Fan is...just the perfect dui zhang, really. HIS GEISHA MASK AND CLAY THINGY - OH MY GOD, I DIEDand as usual, your food references and little details about airports and Korean vs. Chinese and all those things that really bring the setting to life are perfect. whenever I read your fics, I feel like I'm getting a look into EXO's ( ... )

I'M TOTALLY STARRY-EYED OVER ALL OF YOUR -M ANTICS. *__* Lu Han's mischievous streak! DUIZHANG'S BEAUTY REGIMENT. Swapping sweets as currency in a stairwell, ahhh, and I legit let out a sound of delight at the fake hawthorn story (tanghulu is one of my favorite street snacks, too).
Wu Fan, reading something at his desk, looks annoyed at the intrusion. He does, however, point to Lu Han’s bed at the other end of the room. Yixing is rolling under Lu Han’s covers, still clad in sweaty dance clothes. Lu Han yells something in Chinese and descends upon Yixing ( ... )

I always liked tanghulu with other fruits inside! CHINESE STREET SNACKS ARE THE BEST.
Also! I wasn't sure if I was pushing the xinglu bromance too much, but I'm glad it worked out! And yeahhh I took some creative liberties with Jongdae's back story. LET'S HOPE CANON DOESN'T CONTRACT ME TOO MUCH.
