Dragonage: Problems

So, I've bought Dragonage, since everyone seems to be enamoured with it, and it's right up my street. I've played through the "Personal Origin" and "Game Hook" sections, and am just starting the game proper. However, I've hit a snag. I love the combo of Alistair&Morrigan , well Morrigan is just sharp mouth in a funny way :D

But I would stick with it and suffer ! SUFFER !!! I did that also !!!!! I always choose the char's that I like instead of the way to go...but I play normal difficulty now, so on higher difficulty should be more of a problem :P

On normal difficulty there should be no problem winning fights with two shield users, and Alistair has all the best dialogue so you HAVE to keep him in the party! You can always send him down a different route as you level up/unlock new specialisations. Mages are better, sure, but I'd stick with the build you have.
What you do need to do is dump dog for a rogue as soon as you recruit one. Dog is fun but nowhere near as good as a human unfortunately. And you'll need someone to pick locks and loot chests.
