Mmmm, it's 1:08 am, I can't sleep. As I promised, some things about Darian for you (though you really must meet him to find out for yourself how absolutely amazing he is).
We met on Canadian Thanksgiving (October 11th). He and some friends had figured out that they could make 24 pumpkin pies with one pumpkin they'd bought, and set out to do so, but didn't quite have enough ingredients nor pie plates. So, Darian went door-to-door in search of the essentials and ended up at my door (he lives a floor below me). Hehe, since then we see eachother every Monday at Crepe Night (my neighbor across the hall hosts it).
He came over Sunday Feb.12th with one of his friends (Swiss John) and we hung out in the living room, laughing and planning John's romantic plans for Valentine's Day... well, really, it was Darian who planned that out. God, he's such a romantic, he made me melt... Heehee, actually, we were sitting right next to eachother and only the tips of our toes were touching, then wiggling against eachother... Noone else knew :)
Monday Crepe night came and I was so excited to see him. Same ol' same ol', we ate crepes, he played a game with some guys and I chatted with some people, but after awhile, somehow, we started playing Grand Theft Auto and were really having fun, and his arm made its way around my shoulders and we played until Ryan kicked us out. We came back to my room and by Valentine's Day we were a couple :)
We've had the most incredible discussions about everything, but I think our relationship may be going too quickly (especially for him, who has an incredibly romantic vision of how he'd like things to be-- after all, he told me he saw our first kiss being on Mount Royal and was disappointed it wasn't... *sigh*). He surprised me Valentine's Day with candle-lit dessert of truffles and raspberries, a long-stem red rose and the most romantic love letter in the history of love letters. He even left chocolates around my bedroom and always leaves a note for me in the morning before he leaves.
I'm not good enough for him, but I'm improving. He says that neither of us is good enough for the other, but I do think this is a one-way thing (he's absolutely incredible how could he be anything short of 'perfect'?). He makes me happier than I could ever imagine (and I haven't freaked out in this relationship-- he understands and accepts my faults-- I love him so much).
And you don't even know much about him, his interests, his background, I'm a doof. He's Persian-American raised in Chicago and very handsom (his smile radiates love and happiness). A hopeless romantic and idealist, he sees good in everyone and everything, even if it screws him over sometimes (people give him life). He's studying neurology, neurosurgery and psychology at McGill, to become either a practicing doctor, a researcher or a professor (he'd be brilliant at all three) and lives on the floor right under me (lucky me!). Soooo much to say about him... He has a funny obsession with penguins and loves chocolate and crumpets. His favorite artists/bands include Goo Goo Dolls, Rufus Wainwright and Savage Garden and he's very philosophical, oo not to mention his impressive poetic talents *le dreamy sigh*
It's now 2 am, I must get to bed. Darian's getting back from MUN in Princeton on Sunday and I'd like to get my dreaded sexual ethics paper due Monday out of the way before then. Gah, school.
I wish he were here...
