Bruce Springsteen said that a great rock song is really just one or two important lines that people remember, but that some of them have more than that (like Thunder Road) and those are the songs that people hear and take with them, bookmarks of a life ( Read more... )

Thunder Road, along with I'm on Fire and Born to Run. Those three really stand out for me as the songs that set his writing high above some of his contemporaries.

Congratulations. Everyone should experience something like you spoke of at least once in their lives and regardless of how the rest of the world wants to be a part of it or taste it, it belongs to only the two of you.

Those are three of my top ones too, along with Jungleland. But really in most cases the man can do no wrong.

I'm still not sure it's actually happening or that she's not gonna look around one day and realise I'm not that cool, but I'm enjoying the ride for now and hopefully it'll continue.

I thought I answered this forever ago, but for the record....You were right, it was creepy.

I love those moments. I've got a few myself and they are the ones that keep me going when things get low.

This was a great post by the way, Brad. but then i always love your posts.

Badlands is my favorite Springsteen song...that and Born to Run, like Ethan said. But Thunder Road is a great one.

I think that's the main reason I keep a journal, to remember them exactly. Every smell and sound and sometimes I go too in detail in my frenzy to get it all written down but that would be the reader's problem, not mine.

Anyone who doesn't want to read all your details is missing out on the best parts of things. I think it's great you do that. It's all in the details if you ask me. The big gestures and events are just ways to remind us of all the little things that really mattered about the memory.

This is so much like you. That's the best thing for me about when you post. You are so completely you, even when you write. And really, I am the one who should be thanking you.
Remind me to tell you how to upload that. I love you, Pitt. :-*
