I forget exactly how much inspections and emissions tests are, but I think they are usually around $30 or so ( ... )

I highly recommend Century III Chevrolet on Lebanon Church Rd. They have a really bad reputation for convincing people to buy cars they can't afford but their service department is great. I was forced there after my Saturn dealer closed but I love them.

On more than one occasion they have worked to save me money. Just this past Friday I was in for inspection and a 100,000 mile tune up. The tech came out and let me know that I was up to date on everything that would have been done on the tune up so it wasn't really necessary. He could have just charged me $80 for nothing but he was honest and saved me the expense.

They have my business for life now and when the time comes, I may even try them for buying a new car.

I'd stay away from McB Autosport in Bridgeville. I had them put my 1970 MGB GT back on the road, and they failed miserably. I had the car over there, and they were supposed to restore it. They managed to put a nice big dent in my hood (they'd forced it down, and creased the panel), the horns, windshield-washer jets, and turn signals didn't work. Plus, they'd managed to lose some of the parts (two lug nuts, the wood panel that goes in the trunk). Final straw came, when I was over there to check on the car...and the "mechanics" were using a grinder right next to it! All those metal bits were hitting my car...and it had just been painted! They tried to weasel out of repairing the damage (which they caused), so I had to go after them with a lawyer. Sorry for the rant, but after dealing with those idiots, I don't want to see someone go through what I had to ( ... )

Well, I've had pretty good luck with McB's but maybe it's just that. You got any other place you could recommend taking a MINI Cooper for repair and maintenance? Please don't say MINI of Pittsburgh, they tried to charge me $3,000 for a job McB's did for $800 (no exaggeration).

Thanks.

Unfortunately, I've heard too many stories about McB from other classic owners. That, plus my own experiences mean I can't recommend them. But, I have seen the occasional Mini down at Pep Boys. Oh, and you might want to check out Paul's Motor Car Service on Route 88...just off Route 51. They were originally a VW/Audi shop, but have since branched out into other makes.
