I like the details here of...all the little things that combine to make up death and dying, and how well Mac seems to remember all of it, how much it sticks with him. He seems very haunted here, in a low-key way, which works really nicely.

*g*

I know maybe I overcooked it all, but I have the feeling that Mac remembers a lot and sometimes try to hide it a lot, not really comfortable sharing it. I mean, even with Stella... I don't know.

Tries to do the right thing by acting low-key, but it disturbs him too, and tries to find someone he can offload it to, etc. And you've corrupted me (re: Hawkes), cuz I was watching this re-run and sees how Mac finds someone he can offload to. Although... anyway.

hmmm.. i'm rambling now. 3 days of not sleeping. good buzz though... *grin* i'm getting weirder by the minute... (sigh)

No, that's pretty much exactly my take on Mac, as well. My sense of him is that while he remembers a lot of things, he would like desperately not to, and he keeps pretty much all of it buried. Stella probably knows him the best out of all of them, and is closest to him, but even she only gets what little he chooses to reveal, and that reluctantly. He's not...he's not exactly an *open* guy, to say the least. I get the impression that he feels offloading to anyone, or revealing too much of himself, is dangerous.
