Lovely sound of silence

I haven't been doing much deep thinking and writing here lately. Things have been so hectic here lately that I've been posting whatever has been coming to my head, which is mainly dribble about my day, knitting and crocheting. Well it's nineteen days into NaBloPoMo (the name for National Blog Posting Month that I've been murdering all month :-D) ( Read more... )

I think this is the reason I write in my journal everyday, its almost sad how much I depend on this thing to maintain my sanity as I slog through a job that I hate and a life that I'm currently not too satisfied with. Writing is my main destressor, but finding and listening to a good song, and belting it out with everything I have, is a close second. Of course, talking to friends is good, except that most of my friends live, as someone once said, in this little box on the floor. lol I just don't have many folks calling me or hanging out with me, but hopefully that'll change one of these days.

Re: Stress demons...

Hmmm... Well, I tend to get physically ill...tummy stuff..when stress gets it's hold on me. I actually find that Capoiera(intense physical movement) does a great job of releiving a lot of it. Also, taking time in each day to find a spot where you can sit ALONE and get spiritually grounded. Prayer/devotions/etc. are so crucial to our sanity. I often forget this myself. *sigh*

Personally I am dealing with being 38...and very close to the age most women in my family hit menopause...and that is causing some really staggering hormonal shifts in me.

oh...another way I deal with stress is to sit with my kitty Sophie and get/give love until she has had enough. :)

This is a stressful time of year...I'm trying to ignore it until after Thanksgiving.

I have a list of de-stressing things...I just never do any of them.

*lavender bubble baths
*back massages
*obedience work with Dar
*sitting in the middle of the ferret enclosure with a handful of treats and watching the ferrets do cute things for them
*watching fish (at Petsmart or other stores, maybe at home in the future)
*watching cute anime
*reading books written by atheists (scientists and non-scientists)
*having debates about teaching
*watching geeky dvds like Star Trek: The Next Genereation
*shopping online (shopping IRL stresses me out)
