I know it's been a while, but I need somewhere to rant. So my guide dog is having some annoying skin issues, from the biopsy the results show a huge possibility that it is allergies especially sensitivity to insect bites. Now our vet being great instead dragging it out has referred us to a dermatology specialist and this specialist wants me to ( Read more... )

That sucks (that they won't answer the questions). I hope that you don't have to return Maylee.

Yep it did suck, but a grad. services rep contacted me and she helped me out as much as she could and said if I need more to give her or another grad. services rep a call. Yay!

Also I really don't want to give up on Maylee she is such a great funny dog! Her only thing with guide work is her dog distractions, but we are working on that. If we can get this allergy thing sorted out, even if it means allergy shots for life I'd keep her really I would. As long as there is no harm to her in keeping her as a guide, by the end of next year I'm applying for ownership!

I'm sorry you are having troubles with your guide dog, but I'm glad that the frickin' school finally helped you!

Lol, thanks! As for the countdown bar, I got it over at muggle.net. It's a good HP site and approved by Jo herself. I'm excited two more days!

Skin problems with pure breds is common...I had a golden retriever guide who always had one skin problem or another

Hey Jon! I was wondering what stopped you from visiting the new journal. I thought of just adding you regardless of the choice, but then I decided against it for some reason. Nice to see you here! As for skin problems, joy! I'm not looking forward to more of those. I'm crossing my fingers that it's just dry skin and allergies that can be controlled. Well our appointment with the specialist on Monday, wish us luck.
