Tasty Goodness saves the day

So I'm sure by now, ya'll know that I'm allergic to a lot of things as well as His Tallest has stomach issues. This causes a little bit of troubles in the cooking department because nor I or His Tallest can have lactose products and His Tallest has issues with sugar. No cheese, no milk, little or no sugar and NO equal or sugar twin(because I hate ( Read more... )

Okay, here's my question...Why do people care if you are training your guide dog or not? I mean, I'd just want to be able to know that it is a guide dog (cause sometimes I like to pet doggies if people are out walking their dogs), but aside from that, who cares?

I have no idea why people are so noisy and want to know if Im training the guide dog. If they are asking me if I'm training Maylee then they obviously have figured out that harness and dog in means that she is either a guide dog or an assistance dog of some sort and if you read the label on her harness it says Guide Dogs for the Blind on it! Maybe they want to intergate poor trainers with some story of how their sister's brother's uncles dead roommate's cousin "trained" guide dogs (read trained as puppy raised) and how they couldn't give up a dog that is mean to go into training etc... Noisy people with nothing better to do then take to strangers about pointless stories when they are trying to read tiny little labels to figure out if they have the right anti-histamine. I'm bad I don't wear sunglasses all the time and I forget my magnifer, so they think I'm fully sighted. It's the glasses it hurts people minds that someone who wears glasses would need a guide dog. Poor, poor souls. Yep I'm a cynical bitch, but I just want to ( ... )

*shrugs* I would take it as a back-handed compliment when they ask you if you are training Maylee. It's like they are telling you that you do such a good job at living with your *ahem* challenges! *sparklesmile*

Working with the public has turned me into a cynical bitch, hasn't it? Maybe you can teach Maylee to growl at the sound of condescension.

Thanks I try to see it that way, but there is only so much I can tell myself that. I try to educate people in regards to being visually impaired, but it's like talking to a deadline. Hang up and try your call again!

I join you with being a cynical bitch due to the public, I can't really deal with telephones now after the years of customer service and tech support. Oi!

I wish the little girl would growl, but all she does is wag her tail and lick them! Lol, darn flirt, she loves the attention.

If I had a t-shirt everytime I thought or said I so need a t-shirt that says that! Now only if I could fit all that explaining on one shirt and it be large enough for people to read at a distance. I normally don't mind the questions, it's just it gets to me after a while, especially when I'm busying doing my thing and people expect me to stop whatever I'm doing to talk to them. It takes a lot of my concentration to get around and not look like a visually impaired person ya know? Or they try to chat me up, while I'm trying to correct my guide doggies bad behavior. A lot of people don't stop and think that they should not interrupt someone dealing with correcting their dog! Trainer or not, I wish they'd show some manners and respect. *sigh* Thanks for listening :-)

Speaking of shirts I have a cute black one with a cute dog that says "back away I bite!" One of my favourites besides my Emily the Strange shirt. I'm thinking of going back to scary goth that keep a lot of those "special" people away before...
