Blah, I'm still sick. I have so much to do lately and no energy to do it, yet I still force myself to do at least a few things on the long list of stuff to do. Despite being sick I haven't finished a single book! I did manage to finish an audiobook of Twelve Sharp, the latest in Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. I can always count on ( Read more... )

Great Pics!

I am a confirmed Harris/Sookie fan and have turned my mother onto them as well - hopefully I have now found a third person to excitedly share reactions with about them (I heard that HBO is planning to make these into a series btw - I can't help but wonder if they'll do it justice)

The other books I haven't known anyone who has read them personally and wondered if they were good, particularly the Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. Perhaps I'll pick up the first one and give it a try..

Feel better soon!

HBO series based on the Southern Vampire series I read about that on Charlaine's website. I'm iffy myself if they would be able to do it justice...well at least it's not FOX. The idiotic people who cancelled Firefly! I'd watch it to see what it's like, I'd love to at least see who they casted as who. I really like this series, I started reading them on fluke and gobbled them up since then, can't wait till May 2007.

Stephanie Plum books are worth at least a try, they are fricken' hilarious. My m-in-law and f-in-law like them, I got my mom and grandma reading them, we all agree that would all want to spend a day with Granny Mazur, she is precious! When I was introduced to them, I was wary because they didn't seem like the "kind" of books I like to read; however you get sucked in right away. Give it a try and let me know how it turns out.

Have you read the Anita Blake novels? Vampires are legal citizens in that series too, but werewolves (and other weres) are discriminated against. It's very interesting.

I've read Obsidian Butterfly and really liked it. I've also read Incubus Dreams and it was a little too much sex and not a lot of plot. I tried to read the first anita blake book, but I just couldn't get into it. I guess I'll have to try some of the other ones and see. Which ones would you recommend?

You've read the more sex-filled ones of the series (at least of those I've read). You should start with Guilty Pleasures and work your way through the series. The sex makes more sense because it's part of Anita's character development and sorta showing the difference between all the male characters. I actually liked the first book a lot because of all of the descriptions and how corny Jean-Claude was in that book. The Killing Dance is one of the best, though.

~sigh~ I wish I had more time to read. I have the last few books in that series & in the Genry series, but haven't read them yet.
