Not at all a good long weekend. Not only is it about 4 degrees warmer in our apartment than it is outside no matter what the temperature, but the landladies were doing work on the downstairs unit for most of the weekend, which included lots of noise, lots of mess and the worst smell ever. Yeah, I'm concerned about this super-early heat. If it's this hot now, what in the hell is August gonna be like? Am I gonna have to summer in Antartica, for fucksake? I can't take this shit--it totally wipes me out.

Random tip for visiting Antartica - you have to wear sunscreen *up your nose*. I kid you not. The reflection of the sun off the ice and snow is so strong that you can get sunburned in your nostrils.

My friend David went there a couple years ago. He has a goal to visit all seven continents before he turns 30, so he saved up and took a trip. He said putting sun screen up his nose was pretty gross, but sounded a lot better than getting a sunburn up there, especially since the cold makes your nose run a lot.
