Wow, I really enjoyed this. You make the pairing so believable, giving Jo more depth and Sam someone to confide in. I love the way Jo's newness to hunting sort of meshes with Sam's newness to not hunting. It's just lovely and subtle and works. *mems* :)

"I love the way Jo's newness to hunting sort of meshes with Sam's newness to not hunting."

I hadn't intentionally written it like that, but you're right in that the two areas do sort of blend together. What an interesting perspective now that I see that too. :)

Thank you!

Simpy beautiful. You've made this pairing work so well:)

There's a lot of sadness in Sam throughout but Jo made that better for him over time. I love this AU and the glimpse of Jessica at the end of it, how it would have been different in another time and place if Sam would've crossed paths with her. What a nice surprise.

I love how he's so protective about his family and how the ways of hunting still factor in a great deal to the type of person he's trying to be at Stanford when in canon, we know he never felt like he truly fit in and you targeted that so well.

Two puzzle pieces. One piece just remembering what it means to be part of the picture again.

Gorgeous line. Really.

I loved this:)

I think that Sam--perhaps in the beginning, at least--wasn't really as happy at school as maybe Dean and John believed. As stubborn as Sam may be, I'm sure it still must have been difficult, leaving everything behind that he knew and trying to make things work without anyone to help him. But, again, totally my opinion here. :)

Thank you so much for your kind feedback. :)

I totally agree. I honestly believe that those years he was away at Stanford must have killed Dean. Loving him enough to let him go. Tough choice for Sam bc no matter how much he may have resented doing what they did (hunting), that was all that he knew. I'm sure it was a pretty difficult adjustment to step into a sense of normalcy. Stanford era is among my most favorite to read.

I'm rambling so I'll stop.

Thank you again for sharing:)

I just found this, and I have to say wow. I loved the slow build of their relationship, and Sam's denial of all things from his old life, but they still end up getting close. The bit with Jess made me grin as well. Brilliant work.

Oh, thank you so much! I'm glad the build of their relationship worked for you--they're not the easiest pairing to sell, I've got to admit. Thank you again so much. I'm so glad you liked it. :)
