Ugh! You know I love you, but I'm glad you left it there, because I know your affinity for death fic, and my aversion to it. At least where you left it, even though you said they've gained no hope, I can still beleive there's some. So sweet and subtle, very true to character.

*hugs you*

I think there's still hope--even if I do like my death fic a bit too much. I don't think Sam will ever give up on saving Dean.

*hugs back* :)

okay, that first paragraph is THE best opening to a fic, ever :O :D perfect imagery hun :) and I loved Dean just, aww: Then Dean's neck, shoulders clothed in gray t-shirt, shudder and twitch, and Sam knows there is no solace to be found tonight.

He swings his legs from beneath his blankets and pads over to Dean's bed. Touches his brother's shoulder and says, "Hey."

perfect sam :D

Nicely done. It makes me ache for the boys and hope that they somehow get a happy ending.

Favorite lines:

Then Dean's neck, shoulders clothed in gray t-shirt, shudder and twitch, and Sam knows there is no solace to be found tonight.

Oh, Dean.

"You okay, Sammy?"

Sam snorts. Dry and dimissive, and his voice cracks when he replies, "I've been better."

"Me too," Dean says. Sighs. "Me too."

Oh, boys.

There's a flash of light outside--a passing car on the street-

Good details.

"You can't leave me," he whispers, broken and ragged. He wipes at his face with the corner of his sleeve.

This makes me ache.

The sound of rain on the rooftop fills in the silence between them.

I like that you end it with such an atmospheric feeling.

Thank you very much. (And I'm hoping for that happy ending, too!) :)

I like the little details. The hand clutching the sheet. The shiver. The looking at Heaven. It's great.
