Sims crossposting for the non-Tumblr folks. These are short picture based posts, mostly Sims 3. Some of 'em are just one or two pics. That's how we roll on Tumblr.

A pity there's no yoga in Sims 3. I'd love to see what that group'd get up to in Sims 3! I love seeing families transitioning! It's amusing fun!

I know! I hope they give us yoga with an EP. There is some official EA art that shows a sim in tree pose, so it seems they were at least working on it.

There are some pose boxes/mods but the poses look really weird to me (limbs twisted unnaturally at the joints and so on) and I'd want it to be a normal action, anyway...

Yeah, I played with that yoga mat, once. I hated it. While I'm not big, mega Yoga guru, I at least know what the poses SHOULD look like.. this didn't. Maybe when the rumored 'Seasons' pack comes out, we'll see a return to Yoga. Or maybe we'll see it in Supernatural although noone's made any mention of something about it, for Supernatural. Also, it doesn't seem like an object that'd be very thematic for it.

I'm just hoping for a way to fully resurrect Sims with Supernatural. Something awful happened in Thomas and Peter's household. :( and I stupidly saved my game when it happened, like a dumb Simmer!

So tumblr is to sims3 what LJ was to sims2?

Either way, thanks for sharing your sims3 stuff back here in olden days. Your families are a bit of awesome.

Seeing your sims3 stuff I think I'm finally understanding the appeal of the open neighborhood thing. It really is PERFECT for legacy stories/play. You don't have to fuss with the non-heirs. They get kicked out and then go on to have their own lives (which might end up BETTER than the heirs). And you can always leave the main house for a bit to let free will take over and stir things up (should they get stale).

I like the uncertainty that the open neighborhood provides, too. Like, if I have plans for two sims to marry, in Sims 2 it would just be a matter of building the relationship high enough for the proposal to be accepted. In 3, there's always a chance that the intended partner will form their own relationships independently.

Some players hate that, and if you're trying to tell a pre-written story, it would be annoying. But for me it makes things more fun. (Plus I think you can turn off story progression, or mod it or something - I haven't really checked into that)

For a while I didn't like all my Sims running off and getting married/having kids/what have you. Primarily because I had my favorites and didn't want them romancing it up with people I didn't want them to be romanced with. It also didn't help that in the early days, Sims would literally move out of the town, disappear, wind up with babies with no daddies (literally, NO father.. not I don't know who it is), no MOMMIES? WTF stuff and this annoyed me when favorites vanished. They've since fixed that part ( ... )

It does seem to be the place I've seen the most enthusiasm for Sims 3. It's really rough to communicate on it, but on the other hand, it's nice to find a place where the folks are enthusiastic and I don't feel like the red-headed stepchild who likes Sims 3 in a crowd of Sims 2 players.
I'm finding all the content there, Sims to trade, people to talk to.

And yeah, I've grown to really love the Story Progression and open neighborhood freedom, myself, although for a while I wanted control over all the Sims I plopped into my towns. Mostly, that was because I would fill the neighborhood with my favorite Sims then fret because one of them married some weird Sim I didn't want them with when I'd peek back into their lives. Now I just sort of let it go. This is how Taliesen's daughter wound up with my Sailor Moon sim!

PS That's odd - your new user pic shows up as animated in my 'Messages' but it's static here... love the new user pic by the way :)

O_o it just went through one repetition and then stopped for me, as well.
