Internet dating: Buyer's market for the guys, not much a seller's market for the gals.

The way I understand it, there are far more guys on those sites in general. Women get a much higher volume of messages and therefore a higher selection from which to choose gives them a strong advantage. Granted, that also means they are likely to have a worse signal/noise ratio.

Another thing is that age range can play into it. The older one gets, the more limited the selection. That's what my experience was.

Add to that factors such as finding someone compatible with your flavor of Adventism, divorced (with or without kids) vs. never-married, and the pool gets shallower.

Online dating isn't wrong in itself; it just isn't for everyone.
