this one's optimistic...

i'm sort of depressed that i have no received one single letter/drawing/etc. in exchange for the december zine. i thought people really liked what i did and supported me, but i guess i've worn out my welcome, and people only want it if it's free. (and not just money-wise, but apparently free of effort as well.) so i suppose i'll just send it to ( Read more... )

that's the beauty of it! no monetary exchange necessary! you can just write me a letter or send me postcards or anything like that!

and a letter would be good, as i have no idea what's happened in the last, oh, six years of your life? <3

hello! you dont know me, but my name is ani. and i hope this doesnt come off as weird or freaky, but the reason for this comment was to simply say i llove your hair color. and i was wondering, how did you get it to look like that? because i would love if i could do that to my hair as well.

about 2 months ago i dyed my hair black.

this is what i did to get it red/orange/whatever:

1. i bleached my hair using the herbal essences bleach kit. i put a plastic bag over my head (heat makes bleach work better) and let it set for an hour (it suggested 45 minutes max.) most of the black was still in now, but it had an orange-ish tinge to it.

2. using a grocery store type hair color (tint) i dyed it the auburn color. the color took a lot harder to the roots where the hair was white blonde than it did to the part that was orangeish, but it almost looked like a cool gradient, so i kept going.

3. using a highlights bleaching tool kit, i put some random blonde highlights, then took some leftover manic panic in deep red and did some red chunks, too. i also applied the red to all of my tips. i was pretty messy with both the bleach and the red, so it doesn't look like chunks as much as it does a little random.

and that's about it.. :D

thanks! yeah, it worked out pretty well for me. i think it helped that i really know the tolerance of bleach on my hair, since i dyed it so many times.. good luck!
