I have to open that stupid page almost every time I post. I don't post often enough to remember what to do, but today was different. I was using the Rich Text editor, which has that button that's supposed to do it for you. I tried that thing three times and it never worked. I tried in the HTML editor, and tried just typing it in and copy-paste. Nothing.

I've been okay, lots more stuff to tell than time to tell it in because it's bedtime, more tomorrow, k? ::hugs::

Now, I have to disagree here:
If she had the cojones and cash to buy a 250HP car, who are we to argue?

Most midsized engines of today attain speeds that were unfathomable 50 years ago. Only 70 years ago, people wore goggles while driving and top scientists declared that the human body "could not withstand forces generated upon it by driving in excess of 35 miles per hour."

I say, go her.

Hell, I myself want to stumble out of this life, not tiptoe.

In one sense, I say cojones and cash also. But. It's not just the 250 horses. It's a 90 year old person AND 250 horses. The SRT-8 Challenger is a 13 second 1/4 mile *right off the showroom floor*. I have to believe the SE is extremely quick, too. My Accord is only 245 horses, and it's very quick!

I say, Go Her, too. But really, should 90 year old people be able to get powerful sports cars? She killed herself, seriously hurt her son, and who knows who else she could have killed?

But that wasn't my first thought on all this, rather it was how ironic that this one car that I've ever really really truly seriously wanted (so bad I can't STAND IT!!!) ends up being the one the 90yo lady gets for her birthday and kills herself with it. I mean, really; that's the car I want. Yep. Nothing about how terrific a car it is, just "oh yeah, that's the car that 90yo lady killed herself with 5 minutes after she bought it, innit?"

I see where you're coming from as for the danger. But we really don't know anything about this person. We can make a lot of assumptions but ...

"The house is white on this side." says Uncle Bob through Anne.

And besides, what if _you_ were the 90 year old lady? Wouldn't you want the opportunity to buy the car? So ... yeah she should be able to get the car!

I really do see where you're coming from but this wouldn't have made news (nor pressed your button) if it were a 19 year old that got it for her birthday and did the exact same thing. Don't discriminate on age alone :).

Oh I know, I know. I *like* to think that I wouldn't want to arm myself with a sports car at that age. Yes, that's a provocative way of saying that, but really, if you are unable to control the car because of your age and/or the fact that it's a powerful sports car, then driving one *anyway* is a sort of driving while "unable to responsibly drive", right?

I'd love to have a Harley, and be able to ride it, but if you put me on a Harley right now, I'd probably kill myself with it just like that lady did with her new car. I mean, just because I can ride a moped doesn't mean I can ride a motorcycle, even though they are both two wheeled motor vehicles. (setting aside the fact that the motorcycle has the clutch and all)

Of course this would not have made the news if it were a 19yo who did this. Somehow that feels like a straw man... *no offense*!

And I will discriminate any way I like! NYAH!!!
