Версия на русском языке Today, I continue to write about my project, the "Pixel Walker" engine, with which you can generate unique images and objects!
More details about "Pixel Walker" and about its two first objects can be read in previous posts. And now I'll write about how, along with the creation of objects, the interface developed, which was eventually to turn into a graphical editor.
As I wrote earlier, in the development of the graphic editor, mysterious partner helped me. Everything related to the interface, forms, menus and the output of graphics on OpenGL, he took over. And i was engaged in the development of the engine and objects.
At the same time, I had to use standard VCL forms for a while, in order to test objects:
Button "Нарисовать"(Draw)
Initially, for the very first tests, there was only one "Draw" button. I think there's no point in explaining what she did. =)
After it appeared the button "Select object: tree", it was a choice of "brush", with which you could draw trees:
Button "Выбрать объект: дерево"(Select object: tree button)
Do not be surprised, in the screenshot, a tree is depicted, it's just too thick!
Until then, to change the parameters of the object, I just set the default values, and now I added the "sliders" to change them:
Manage settings
In the next version, I added a new object "Horizon", it's "Background", about which I wrote in the previous post. And I also remade the "sliders" to change the parameters.
New "sliders"
Chronologically, at this point in time, the form for the graphic editor was ready, and together with the mysterious partner we began to integrate our developments. And this is what happened:
Graphic editor form
Actually, that's all ...
Here we have similar tools for working with objects and parameters, brushes and layers. And further, when there was a need to visually improve the interface and add other objects to it, this caused problems for some reason.
The mysterious partner went to redo the menu, and I in turn decided that to extend the base of objects on the Pixel Walker you can try to make other projects.
As a result, development with the interface of the graphical editor stoped, and I went to do other projects. Now, work on the graphic editor is suspended, but it is not stopped, as soon as there are enough objects in the engine, I plan to resume work on the editor, but for now he is peacefully at the very end of the list of projects.
The first of the projects, on the Pixel Walker engine, which I took up in parallel with work on the editor, was the game "Where The Storm", which I'll talk about in the next post. And now, in the end, a small video demonstrating my recent development - folding objects "on each other":
