Is phyllo dough permitted? If so, Justin came up with a recipe when we had to do a fully vegan dinner and I'll see if I can track it down for you. And I'm visiting my mother next week so I'll ask if she has anything interesting.

I'm not sure, but I would include the phyllo dough recipe anyways - she might not be able to eat it now, but perhaps down the line when other foods are permitted, she might be able to do that one. The other vegan recipes might work well too, as well as veggie recipes from your mum...

Thank you!!!

Can you define "heavy grains"? And... while we're at it, what's the story on potatoes?

It's weird - she can eat white bread, saltine crackers, and very light wheat stuff (think Homepride Wheat bread), but no oats, no heavy breads, no enriched pastas...

Potatoes are on the OK list for now - she had a baked potato last night for supper and that went well. So I'm thinking potatoes are a good choice for the recipe book.

Would the salt in soy sauce (or low-sodium soy) be too much? I was thinking kabocha no nimono, but it has sugar and soy in it.

I think soy sauce is OK - several of the dishes that I'm going to include use it. She could always use the lo-so stuff. Thanks for the link!
