So when I posted this morning about Tristan's diagnosis, the current total in the SC donations account was sitting at $1500, which was pretty impressive for the work of just a few days. Today has been the day where we've been able to make the news more public ( Read more... )

When aveline died we asked for donations to help cover funeral costs and were amazed to get over 6k which more than covered costs the left over was donated to charities in her name.

People feel useless in the face of death and like to do what they can.

In the case its donations for something pretty awesome.

Completely awesome really. Accommodation is arranged, a car for them to use complete with child seats and stroller, tickets for Disney, details for gluten free dining in the area, info for how they can get their stroller counted as a wheelchair, a photographer to do some nice family shots for them (Sunday their time) possibly including a canvas print.
And without taking the cost of plane tickets out yet (which they should get military discounts for) the fund currently tallies at just over $4K to cover flights and spending money and whatever random costs they encounter.

I just hope they get to go on this holiday before Tristan really deteriorates.
