So!

Just before X-Mas '06 I got a phone call that an old friend from a past life had dropped dead of a heart attack. I make quick plans to drive to St Louis for the funeral and back in the 4 days before Christmas. As I was wrapping things up at work the day before I was to leave,  I slipped in a puddle of carpet glue while running for the phone and

Holy F*CK! What a story!

Beyond my admiration for what you're doing now, and the amazing grace you've found through these experiences, I also feel grateful that you sought me out this week, that you want to touch base with me.

Unfortunately, at the moment I've got a windstorm of children-and-husband-and-dog around me to be able to more fully respond in kind.

i have thought of you often these past few years, and wished i had the time/energy/inclination to check in. alas, i am a BAD friend, and only stay in touch at my own convenience, but it has been a busy few years to say the least, so i'll claim that as my excuse if you'll accept it!! :)
