Pretty things.

Today I caved in and bought some of the new Thin Lizzy Mineral Foundation over the phone. It was really weird to have a guy giving me the whole "our foundation gives you flawless coverage and a luminous look" sales pitch. He spent about 10 minutes talking with me just saying "yip" when he paused. Anyway, for the low low price of only $9.90 I'm ( Read more... )

Damn thats confusing. For me anyway. How much is just the thin lizzy? Lord! What if you don't want all the crap with it?

Kiwibank - "Grand, never had any problems" ad verbatim from Richie. Not that helpful but there you go! He has a credit card with them too.

Ha, sorry for being confusing. I try not to ramble too much about makeup.

Unfortunately, you have to buy the Thin Lizzy all in a kit. The rep said they might bring out the mineral foundation on it's own, but it's not certain yet. You can buy the bronzer in a kit for $49.90 (you get two bronzers, two brushes, two eyeliners, two lipglosses and a DVD on how to use it).

Oh, you weren't! Just they never tell you exactly how much it is in the ad's so I'm like "looks good, how much!?"

I've been using one called "flawless" or something which i like (got a sample) so I think I might go with that one as I know I like it. Wish I could find a compact type one though..

They'll charge me $119.90 if I keep it after the 30 day trial thingy. I used it for the first time this morning and I'm not entirely impressed. I might end up sending it back if I haven't changed my mind over this week.

Elizabeth Arden do a mineral foundation in a nifty compact. It's similar the a YSL one I used once. It'll be pricey, though.

This is it here: http://shop.elizabetharden.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3433908&cp=2860507&parentPage=family

Oh! I've used mineral stuff from immersioncosmetics.co.nz before and they do a compact thingy:

The lady who runs it has a trademe account under the name irish15. She's really lovely to deal with.

Anyways, I'll shut up about makeup now :P

can't help with the credit card thing... I'm with National too, why do you think they suck? Just the fee?

Yeah, just the fee. They're pretty good otherwise. Well, their customer service people in the Courtenay Place branch could do with a bit more training! I always seem to get the person who knows nothing.

I use BNZ for a credit card, only for the points which I put onto mum's flybuys. They do charge an account fee though.

For every day banking I use kiwibank and I've never had any problems. They are offering one of those fancy debit card thingees (like Westpac have done for a while), but the reality is if something goes wrong with one of those you're screwed because with those your money is gone. With a normal credit card if something goes wrong you can dispute the bill.

And well, with few exceptions (main bloc of this many kiwibank customers), nobody switches banks...

That's a good point about the debit card. I think I'll just stick with my credit card for now. It's good to have that extra protection especially seeing as I buy so many things from overseas.

I've got a Westpac Mastercard and have never had a problem. They also offer a Visa Debitcard, which Hana has for her dance studio. Seems pretty good.

Is her dance studio all up and running?

I'm with Kiwibank, switched from Westpac because their interest rate was ridiculously high and they charged $45 a year. I have a mastercard now, that as long as I use once in 3 months, doesn't charge an account fee. Also, the interest is way lower but I always pay it off.

Their internet banking is a bit archaic and their savings accounts suck, so I kept eveyrthing else with Westpac.
