I've had a headache since last Saturday and it won't go away no matter what drugs I take. I've tried just nurofen, nurofen and panadeine, mersyndol, nurofen and mersyndol and I've tried taking nothing for a few days. I hurt and I'm so tired but have trouble sleeping :( I've been waking up with a really sore neck and feeling like I'm going to ( Read more... )

Yo.

I was put on cerazette as well (can't take the combined pill, because of my anxiety/weight issues- blah), and I was *constantly* on my period as well! For at least a month, just like you! For some women, the bleeding settles down, but others continue to get really heavy/long periods. So, you could keep going with it, and see if it settles down- but I wasn't going to run the risk of having my period the rest of my days, so I went straight off it.

Has your doctor recommended the Mirena IUD? Apparently, they're fantastic- I was going to get one put it as well, but my bullshit wage won't allow it just right now. :( They're cheaper (just) at Family Planning, but it is still a lot of money. :(

I've heard Yasmine/Yaz is quite a good pill, and doesn't have that many side effects. I might try that as well. Let us know how you get on.

I might see if my body settles down over the next month, but I'm not sure if my patience will last that long :( The doctor didn't even warn me it could happen.

Yeah, she was really keen on the idea of the mirena. I was kind of shocked she'd recommend it for someone who hasn't had kids yet, although I guess I am running out of options.

Yasmin and Yaz are really expensive, I warn you now. Yasmin is $20 a month and Yaz is $80-90. If you're thinking about going on them, ask for free samples first. If the doctor doesn't have any at the time they can get them for you from the company who makes them. It's definitely cheaper in the long run to get a mirena, but it is hard to pull $300-400 out of no where to start off with :(

I haven't tried a progestegon only pill, but when i first went on the combined pill it was just before a six-week exchange trip to Tahiti. I had hoped that I'd be able to postpone my period so I could swim all I wanted while I was there! But instead, I bled for the whole time. Six weeks. It was draining (haha literally) and I was not impressed. (Plus, my host family sucked so I pretty much had no support.) I was as thin as a rake when I got back to NZ.

Not that it helps! Just commiserating!

Ah, the constant period. That sucks. Fuck you've got to love the shit we go through in trying to make our bodies bend to our will. I'm not fond of the pill, especially the form I'm trying. I hope you get better soon, or find some relief.
