because it's not often that you get to ride out the end of the world before looking back and saying 'Hey! The world didn't end.' Except this is the second time in our lives we get to say this! Remember the Millenium? How the world was going to end when we changed from 1999 to 2000... or was it 2000 to 2001? Did they ever settle when the world was supposed to end then? I forget.
But this is true. We can send ourselves Virtual Gifts of a "Dark bevergage" on 22 Dec 2012.
On a totally different topic, I really, really hate this paper... but more my Prof who can't be bothered to spell out the fraking assignment. The final paper is supposed to be 15 pages... but I think I am sending him a "first" draft of about 10.
Oh, I forgot to add... sick still? That sucks! You should sleep. :-)
Ah, but this time they've got a definite date. The millenium was just the usual millenial we're-all-gonna-die crap. This one has, apparently, been foretold for centuries. :D
Yes, STILL sick, even these days later. Now, it's fever, pain and nausea.
I'd like an order of sleep with a side order of sleep.
WHY do I do this to myself?! I told myself O should go to bed at 9pm ish given the total lack of sleep from the 24 hour shift of EMTing, yet do I do this? NO! Watching the 2nd ep of The Women's Murder CLub would have been fine.... but getting sucked into reading some fanfic? STUPID. Now I must write my paper due in 2 hours. Oh the joy.
I always feel that the pointlessness of hype precisely corresponds to the wackiness of those who are hyping it. So the crazier the person, the more pointless and meaningless the hype, you know?
Yeah. My crazy bipolar aunt is ALL worked up about 2012.
Yeah, but I just have so much fun with it. Because honestly? If the world's gonna end, the world's gonna end.
What struck me as funny is them using Revelation to support the 2012 date when (correct me if I'm wrong), it says right in Revelation that you will not know the hour or the day.
All you can do is live a good life, because God's going to sort things out later.
What made me think of you is that they're saying the sun, Earth and a black hole at the centre of the galaxy are all going to line up that day and possibly cause an axis shift on Earth.
I have news for people. Even if it DID happen (and I see that as being a big, big IF), there is nothing we can do about it, and humanity will likely survive. The planet most certainly will, meaning it is NOT the end of the world.
Today is my day to be evil with logic. But now I must put my sick body to bed.
