Employment Update

Nothing exciting to report. I'm doing some temp work for Molly Brown as a receptionist. So far, it's been a series of one day jobs. Tomorrow I start one that goes a week and a half. They're all receptionist positions. If I can get 4 days of work/week I can make more than if I just stayed home and collected unemployment ( Read more... )

The aquarium occasionally has education positions open. They don't list positions on their website (boo) but the people in the education department are on this page.

Oh and you might want to contact memegarden about her reading nonprofit. I was talking to my mom last night and she says that tutoring in small groups works well, especially for creative writing. Might be enough like the classroom experience for you...

I interviewed with them and it went well.
However, they were only looking for someone for 15 hours a week and they wanted a 2 year commitment and I have NO idea what my schedule will be until I find a job, so...

That's where she's working (and is very for-profit), but she's researching putting together a tutoring non-profit.

My aunt works for the Shorline school district in the special ed department, and she referred me to this site when I was job hunting.

I don't know if you're in that area at all, but it's an option. She said they're pretty much always looking for people to work in the special ed dept.
