Oh it's HPV. Already been through this once. This appt. is for the colposcopy (where they look and take a little something). I had this done before and had to come back for the next step - a LEEP procedure, where they cut off part of your cervix with a laser. That was supposed to have taken care of it. I had normal paps for a couple of years but now it's back. I think it's so cool that there's a vaccine for HPV now.
Something like 50% of women are diagnosed with HPV by age 30. Like 80% by age 50 (these are numbers from memory from a study that is probably outdated by now, but you get the idea). It's really common, that's why for the yearly pap smears. Condoms seem to be 70% effective at preventing retransmission but CDC says ~"more info needed" about that. A friend of mine who worked in the STD department of public health says ~"if you've ever had unprotected sex you can pretty much assume you have HPV." Vitamins A, C, and E seem to reduce symptoms. Like other warts they usually go away by themselves but the virus stays with you. Guys don't really have anything to worry about (of my minute number of genital cancer cases in men only a small portion of them are caused by HPV). HPV vaccine know as "gardisil" protects uninfected person from 4 strains of HPV. HPV has also been linked to increased risk of throat cancer.
I'm not sure how effective your technique for hormone swing inducement is but it sure sounds interesting xD I think you have to be around them a bit more than that to sync up, do you have linkage to documents that suggest otherwise? I would be interested to see them.
*hugs* Good call with the insurance. Eeek, it's expensive though! Hopefully you'll be fine and can switch to something a little more affordable soon. *hugs* lots of us here for you... don't die plz.
I once heard someone who worked at an std testing center say that they tell almost every woman that they have an abnormal pap just so that they will go get a more thorough test. I've had 'abnormal' paps in the past (twice - from Planned Parenthood), but they never found anything abnormal when I went back for another checkup somewhere else... *hoping you're fine, and bleeding normally soon*
