As most of you know, I have taken over
Fey Publishing. I plan to stick with the motto "Bringing new talent to light". I am not requiring publishing credits to be considered and I want to work with both new and seasoned writers alike. I've found so much love and support within the Indie author community, I want to give back and help other writers out too. I'm planning on paying cover designers and editors for their time (once I get to a place where I can), and hopefully help build their careers up as well. This company will help me in many ways, but it will also help others. This is why it's such a good fit for me. I love helping others succeed, and plan to do my best to help all my writers, designers and editors build up their resume and further their careers.
My
Indiegogo campaign ends in 9 hours.
I don't really plan on reaching my goal, and that's fine. I really didn't understand the concept of setting a goal and then setting stretch goals, I put down the max I would need to get everything up and running and figured that way I wouldn't have to ask for me when I met a goal (that felt weird to me and I already didn't want to appear like I was begging for donations and bothering you guys).
I will be able to get going with whatever I raise. However, the more I raise, the more books I can put out right away and I can also hopefully pay editors and cover designers too. All funds will go to the company, in a separate account, and will go to publishing books. The first book will be Kevin's next book - Shattered Honor. He hopes to have it finished tomorrow and then it's off to the editors. We have a cover for it and everything. I have two anthologies I am accepting submissions for and it's going really well. I get several submissions a day and already planning a volume two of the Horrors of History anthology and one submission was amazing, but didn't fit the specifications... so I have another anthology idea for that one now too. Not to mention, one other writer is writing a book specifically to be published through me, the third book in the Vampire Relics trilogy, and I've gotten manuscript submissions galore. So I'm starting out strong. Anyone who wouldn't mind sharing the campaign in the last few hours, I'd really appreciate it.
There are great perks such as $1 e-books (for those who can only donate a little) and they can be found
here. There are e-books ranging from horror to romance to young adult to mainstream fiction. These authors have all been so great in helping me out, so please, if anything take the time to check out their work and following their pages.
There's also the raffles for the custom portrait going on. The guy from Asylum Graphics is freaking amazing and he will draw any person or pet you want. Send him a photo and he can do it. He can even make some minor changes. Like he's able to put to children together who were previously not photographed together, the same with pets. Check that out
here, including samples of his work.
There's also the raffle for all the free Fey Publishing books.
This is one of the only ways to get an advanced e-copy of Kevin's next book. I can now send it in other formats other than PDF including mobi and ePub. It's also one of the only ways to get a signed copy of Kevin's book.
I have also included my upcoming book of shorts in the promotion, and the people who choose this perk can get it in any e-format as well. And it's also the only want to secure yourself an advanced copy of that as well. This book is in editing and will be out within the next couple of months.
Every little bit helps. Money is seriously extra tight right now. I lost my job in October. Kevin lost his job a few weeks ago. They cut my unemployment benefits this month without much warning. I really need to get something up and running to bring in extra money, and this had so much potential to help me out. I just have these initial barriers of entry to get past. Remember, every little bit helps. Thanks to all of you who have donated, shared or helped out in ANY way. I will forever be in your debt and never hesitate to ask for my help in the future. If you want to share or donate, there's 9 more hours. And trust me, I appreciate every little bit of help I can get. You guys rock.
I'm adding a resost button because it couldn't hurt. Feel free to share far and wide if you like.
If this is not your thing, please feel free to scroll on by and I promise, I will stop talking about Indiegogo very soon since it ends very soon.
