It's sweatshirt weather already again. I love cozy sweatshirts and jeans, but I was hoping the warm weather would last at least through our Boundary Waters camping trip. Guess I'll be living it up in thermal underwear next weekend.

We had real life tornadoes! Except I wasn't home for them. I was at work, trying to close down a store with customers who were angry that they couldn't continue to shop while tornado sirens were going off outside and the windows were bowing. I'm really upset about everything that is going on in the world right now. Our priorities as Americans are really fucked up, and we're all personally responsible for the way each and every increasingly frequent man-made and natural disaster is being handled.

I have an interview on Wednesday for a serious job that could possibly be the start of a career... So I've started biting my fingernails again and am sort of freaked out. I'm so excited they want to give me a chance to prove I could do this. Life is totally nuts right now!

Happy (belated) birthday, Shirley! I'm sorry I wasn't able to post it yesterday, but I did think about you all day. I hope your year is as successful as the last and that you find what you're looking for in China. Or at least that you learn a lot and enjoy yourself while you're there. Miss you.
