Madeline woke up this morning via thunder and lightning outside her window. Today is the perfect day to just sit back and watch the rain drops slide down the window. ahhh...not a good day to try to be productive at work though. Atleast there's not a window anywhere near me that I can stare out of.
The present fest went good. I got hammered down with new dishes and cookware that matches my dishes. *beam* and Mikey got me some super slicy Rachael Ray knives. Yes, I am a kitchen geek. I also got a new addition to my christmas village.
It's small but one day it will be a Santa wonderland, I tell ya. The building to the far right is the new one. The diner. woohoo! Now my little villagers can get a greek souvlaki plate with greek salad and fries. That will make anyone happy!
My mom and Aunt got into a huge fight on Christmas Eve. It was entertaining if nothing else. My aunt is looney toons as most of you all know. My mom was impressive though. She held her ground, did not raise her voice, did not get belligerent and told my aunt how it was going to be. I am very proud of her. They were happy that it wasnt while the house was full of house guests. Just the family. What makes it even worse though is that I had to take my aunt home afterward and when we got in the car, she apologized and then halfway down the road she said, "I forgot to tell your mother that I had a nice time"...WTF?! HAHAHAHAHA! Yay family.
Christmas morning was a spectacle of flying wrapping paper and smiling faces. I was worried that it wasn't going to be a good one because of our lack of $$$$ but we seemed to pull it off. Madeline was happy with her Playstation 2 and I was happy to not have to chunk 400 dollars down on an Xbox 360 even though that would have admittably been much cooler. Maybe when we get our big flat panel television, we'll get the 360. (keeps dreaming) Mads got her spiderman game. She was happy. Watching her play was the funniest thing. She wasn't really concerned as much with game strategy as she was making her spidey swing from webs all over the city. What was great was the fact that every web spun stayed there and so the whole city was covered.
Her next favorite gift oddly is the rubicks cube that she got in her stocking. She hasn't been able to put the damn thing down since she got it. (aside from taking time to swing from buildings while singing the spiderman song).
It was a hectic crazy holiday just like always so I took Wednesday off work to recouperate. Now I am looking forward to my next 4 days off work. woohoo! Any new year's resolutions out there in journal land? here's a few pics too.
Madeline being way happy about Christmas morning..you know because it's the birth of baby Jesus...right!

Stockings...the big one in the back is Madeline's new stocking. She was WAY happy and she thinks it was hand made by Mrs. Clause. How cute is that?!
