Sad about the devistation of our pier after all the work people have done to save it.

It's so dreadful :( :( I hope they can save it but it looks almost totally destroyed. What a terrible shame. :(

It is, after getting the council to start putting a compulsery purchace order on it (the pier trust couldn't do anything until it was out of the hands of it's absentee owner who decided to just leave it to rot because it needed work to maintain the safety of the framework)
A case of buying something to make money, then not wanting to pay for the upkeep. I just hope he doesn't collect any insurence for it.

So sad to see something like that burn to a crisp... It looked totally gone...

I know how sad I would be if our Pier (in Scheveningen) would ever burn down...

I hope it can be salvaged.
