I did the Jewel program and they gave me help with my tickets. I bought if from some Orthodox Woman in NY and she got me a student fare.(I believe I got the name from Aish)
I would bring lots of layers for clothing, it can quite cold in Jerusalem. Also there were a lot of ocassion that you will need to dress up. A lot of the woman did a lot mix and matches. I would have one nice suite with a long skirt. I would also bring some streching skirts that you could do some outdoor activities in and a couple of pairs of shorts to wear under your skirt.
I picked up extra money baby sitting and cleaning for shabbas.
