I went ahead and stopped my automatic payment going out the 24th for a paid LJ account, which means for the first time since 2008 I will see ads on this site. I will also only have 15 userpics, which I think by far was the hardest thing to give up. At one point I had over 100. I let mine go unpaid too. For lack of use and funds for this. I still have my LJ, because i still use it, from time to time.
Guhhhh, ads suck. Lack of user pics too.

LJ is a good place for me to go to get stuff off my chest or just write about life that I can't anywhere else, but basically all the communities I went to that kept me on this site so much (all fandom related) have transferred over to tumblr, so really unpaid is the way to go for me.

Me too. I have thought about quiting here all together recently so when that email came through I knew I couldn't pay for something I wasn't even sure I wanted.

Well, I'm glad you are still around. I still want to keep my LJ, because it serves a purpose when I need it to. I'm just not as attached to it as I once was.
