I rarely come here anymore, so feel free to ignore. But of the websites I do still habitually visit, it just didn't seem like the right place to share this

We just got the referral today for Bryce to start the evaluation process--just waiting to hear which Autism Center insurance will cover so we can make the appointment.
He just turned four. His old pediatrician brought up autism a while back but said his behaviors were still in the "normal" range and we needed to wait and see. It was frustrating--I don't like wait and see. His preschool teacher leans more towards OCD but could also see high-functioning ASD. I had to wait three months but finally got all three kids into the pediatric practice through Children's Hospital and am almost giddy with the referrals all the kids have gotten. It was a losing fight with the old ped but no problem with his office. What a difference a great doctor makes......
We have a tentative diagnosis of aspergers for Dane. I understand how you feel. It's hard when others see it. If you ever want to talk, I'm here. I haven't opened up much about it though.
I haven't actually spoken about it openly on LJ or Facebook. Mainly because it's a tentative diagnosis right now. But we're pretty sure it's going to be a full diagnosis. I'm in the process of getting a new evaluation done for him. But yes, I'm always available :)
I'm so glad I noticed something was wrong early and we had him in a program from the time he was 3. Early intervention is key from what I hear, so it makes me hopeful for Cole's future.

My friend is going through the process with her three year old. She's in denial about it but there's obviously something not quite right.
