I have noticed...and prove me wrong if you wish, but nothing changes more consistently than the past ... the past that influences our lives is not what actually happened but what we believe happened.
true, doesn't the past stay the same if you have a set perception of it? Perceptions of the past usually don't change...just maybe the farther you get from them, the more you want them back or dont want them back so the perception moves on a positive or negative scale...it doesn't neccesarily mean it has changed. Thats how I see it anyway.
basically....memories are never wholly truthful. the past is only what is told by others or what people choose to remember. and thoughout life, the facts of the past will be stretched, strenghtened, forgotten, or even made up. so the past is constantly changing in the eyes of who live now because how are we to actually prove what happened in the past most of the time. we don't document or video tape everything, all the time, right when it's happening. the past changes from each different story told by each individual. the past is what makes us who we are today...but who we are today is totally based on what we like to think happened in the past.
