I'm giving up on playing music -- and it's all the Hold Steady's fault. I've done over 200 shows and most shows you'll feel like that after. Especially when playing a string of shows there's so much going on in life that you put aside for the time on stage that you get to do what you like, but as soon as you're off stage again you're back in that headspace. I don't let people see it, because when people come and talk to me after a show I always remember that these are the people who make it possible for me to continue making and playing music and I should be very grateful to anyone who shows interest in what I do. You have to do it because you love it.
