I have never felt burdened or indifferent when you have unloaded problems in my direction. I felt fortunate that I was in a position to help, or at least just listen. I never thought any less of you because of it, never judged you to be childish or less responsible. Everyone does need to have someone else's ear for a rant now and then. It's just a truth of the human condition. It's constant for all people of all ages and not unique to any group or to youth. Feel free to vent to me whenever I am available.
I am not a doctor, but it sounds like what happened on the stairs is a panic attack. It might be a sign you have too much stress and need to relax a bit or get away for a short vacation. Hopefully you will have an opportunity like this in a coming weekend.
Hope school picks up for you. Good luck on your exam.
Although we've never met, I can honestly say I feel like I've known you for a long time through your LJ. One thread that is consistent in your thoughts is your self criticism, you seem to be constantly amazed that you can't live up to your own expectations. Neither could I, for years. Be kind to yourself, we are all doing the best we can at any moment. Looking back and seeing how we can do better is about learning, not about judging.
I'm sorry you're having such a rough semester, Missy. I know everyone gets wrapped up in life, but I also know you've got really good, old friends who'd be happy to listen to you if you reach out. I'm still happy to try to help with any Biology that I can, though those intro classes sadly come down to a lot of memorization.
Also, I'm on campus for class from 5:30 till around 7 on Tues and Thurs, so if you want to meet for coffee or something, I'm there. I usually get to campus around 5 but could get there a little early if I know in advance!
i might just take you up on that! thank you all for your kind words. its true that ive been very wrapped up in life and myself these days, and its easy to forget that other people can help. ive had 2 more panic attacks since i wrote this entry, one just about an hour ago after spending 20 minutes driving around little 5 points looking for a place to park. it occurred to me that the psychiatric evaluation i had done in england last year might count towards my disability case, so ive started the ball rolling on getting copies of that paperwork sent to georgia state. with any luck, they can help me without having to go through another evaluation or paying a lot of money. keep your fingers crossed!
