“You are therefore exiled into the human world, to be reborn again as a human infant.”

“What? But I didn’t do anything wrong!”

“You have violated a few rules, reaping unassigned souls, to name one of them, and you, you-“

“I fell in love? Since when was that breaking the rules?”

“You fell in love with an angel, Kibum!”

“So?”

“Kibum, the last time a deathgod and an angel fell in love, the dinosaurs became extinct. It’s just a love that’s too impossible to carry on.”

“I don’t care.”

“I’m not tolerating this behaviour any longer. Please get him out of my sight and make sure his punishment goes in effect as soon as possible.”

Kibum snarled at the higher up and at the guard who pushed him towards “the ledge”; the line that separated his world and the human world.

“Kibum, I snuck in a loophole for you. I hope you find it.” Someone whispered in his ear.

“What loophole?”

But before his question could be answered, the guard pushed him off, and he was off into the dreaded abyss called the human world.

“Will I ever see you again?” he questioned no one in particular, as he felt his eyes close, and he let the darkness envelop him.

He found himself in an enclosed space after, curled up in a fetal position. No, scratch that, he was a fetus. If he could, he could claw his way out of that womb he was in. If only his nails weren’t so useless. But he had the option of kicking. And so he did that. On the outside, his “mother” was quite pleased that he was moving around. It took Kibum a while to realize that they were actually enjoying it, and stopped. And so he sat in there, waiting to be born.

The moment he got out, he started squirming, and yelling, and cussing at everyone, but it all came out in tiny, high pitched cries.

“God damn you all! Damn you all to hell! I hate you, release me!” he yelled out, but it came out in annoying baby fits.

His mind was fully developed; it was just, that he was stuck inside an infant’s body. As he grew up as a toddler, he constantly tried to escape. But it didn’t work. And so he decided to annoy the hell out of his so-called “parents”. He would cry out in the middle of the night, and no matter what they would try to shush him down, he would keep crying. It nearly drove his mother mad. Every time he would see his so-called father’s face, he would slap, or hit him in the face with his pudgy little hand.

Soon, he was ushered into school, and he would behave badly, picking fights with all the boys, teasing the girls, and back talking to the teachers. He was known around town as the “devil boy”, and he prided himself for that title. He went wherever he pleased, and did whatever he wanted to. His own parents were even scared of him. He was in control, and he liked it.

He enjoyed it until the day he saw that being again. He was sitting in an alley, resting from a fight, admiring the blade that he held in his hands. There was something about it; Kibum could swear it gave off the same feeling his old death scythe did. Was his scythe reborn along with him? His train of thoughts was cut off when he saw something white flash by, like a ghost of some sort. His gaze quickly followed it, but it flew by so fast, that when Kibum stuck his head out of the alley, it was already turning the corner. Nevertheless, Kibum kept running after it, and he was glad when it finally stopped. It halted in front of a tall boy. There was nothing peculiar about him, only, his gaze was straight ahead, and whenever he would turn his head, he would close his eyes and shake his head, muttering something like “Please go away!”

Kibum stopped a short distance from them, trying to catch his breath. He also wanted to see what was going to happen. He put the blade back in his pocket, and leaned against the nearby wall. The white thing leaned down and whispered something to the boy, and the boy shook his head violently, covering his ears with his hands. “Make them go away. Make them go away! I don’t want to hear their cries for help anymore. I can’t help them. I can’t!” the boy yelled, before he fell on his knees on the ground, crying.

The being knelt down in front of the boy and whispered something in his ear again, wiping the boy’s tears away. Kibum scoffed and started walking towards them, when the being looked in his direction. Kibum stopped, and cursed his human body and those damn hormones, or whatever the hell they called it. His heart was beating annoyingly fast, and there was something coiling in the pit of his stomach. Kibum cursed under his breath before he took another step closer.

“Long time no see, Jinki.”

The being blinked once, and shot him an apologetic look, before he took off in flight once more. Kibum could feel anger boiling inside of him, as he stormed off, leaving the boy there by himself. He found himself back home, and his mother automatically rushed to his side, fussing over where Kibum had gotten those bruises, and why his clothes were all torn. Kibum slapped her hand away, but when she didn’t leave him alone, he took his blade out and stared at her.

“K-kibum, the doctor said you weren’t allowed near sharp things like that…please put it down.” His mother said calmly, taking steps back as Kibum stepped towards her, shooting her a menacing glare.

“Son, put the knife down and leave you mother alone...” his father came up behind him, making sure he kept his distance from Kibum.

“I told you not to call me son. I am not your son. I never will be!” He screeched, as his father stumbled back, and the next thing Kibum knew, he was staring at his hands, which were coated with blood. He laughed slightly and splashed the pool of red that sat beside him, sticking his knife in the pile of flesh that sat near him, which he guessed was his mother. “Oh, it’s the colour red!  Do you know how much I’ve missed you?!” Kibum grinned as he rushed towards the looking glass, admiring his blood stained reflection in it. He laughed and skipped around the house, taking his blade before he stepped out the door, and terrorized everyone else.

That was the day that Kibum found the loophole. So he was reborn with his reaper powers, huh? The question was: who did that?
